Prophetstown
Prophetstown takes its name from a Sauk and Winnebago village once led by the prophet Wabokieshiek, an ally of Black Hawk, at the meeting of the Rock River and Rock Creek. Prophetstown State Park now occupies that same ground, with camping, canoe access, and river frontage a short walk from downtown.

Asa Crook HomeHistoric home built in 1839 by Prophetstown’s first settler, Asa Crook Sr. Served as inn, church, school, and post office. Restored and preserved by the Prophetstown Area Historical Society. Near the Rock River on Asa Crook’s original land.
Big Bend State Fish & Wildlife Area1,188 acres west of Prophetstown. Open for hunting, hiking, limited fishing.
Eclipse Square Memorial ParkEclipse Square Veterans Memorial Park honors veterans, law enforcement officers, firefighters and EMTs in downtown Prophetstown. Named for the Eclipse lawnmower once manufactured in the community, the park includes commemorative monuments, green space and a picnic pavilion.
